The guys at?_Guitar Life?_couldn_??t imagine life behind much else, and like this guy we_??re planning on rocking into the hereafter.
He_??s what we call a lifer, probably got into it at an impressionable young age. From then on, there was no hope of rehabilitation. Would have started out on one of those thrift store plywood copies and an old amp so battered he doesn_??t need a distortion pedal.
Some buddies decide to use an old garage to thrash out some tunes in and before long they_??re regulars at open mic nights, opening shows for travelling acts and maybe even doing it on street corners for spare change.
Next thing you know someone_??s got a beat up old van from somewhere and spray painted the name of the band on the side. Off they go to the next town, and the next, playing those songs they wrote in that garage.
Night after night they walk onto different stages, endless gigs on an endless tour. Maybe they find bigger crowds, record deals and all the things that come with music fame, maybe not. But it doesn_??t really matter, because this guy found exactly what he wanted a long time ago.
And that plywood copy? Passed on years ago to some kid in a town whose name he can_??t remember. And so it starts again.
