Who said the best things in life are free? Whoever it was clearly hadn’t heard of drums.
These best things in life come in many shapes and sizes, they can be all sorts of different colors and materials, but they all have one thing in common, they make loud noises when you hit them.
Let me put it to you this way, it’s a beautiful sunny day, the birds are shining and the bees singing, flowers nip at your heels as you sit back in the tall grass, picking up ticks and Lyme disease.
You move on past people with beards playing ukuleles, not noticing the root sticking out, exposed by the recent rain, and as you tumble down the slope nettles sting you all over.
Then suddenly it hits you like a stick to the face, no not a branch to the face (although that is a possibility). It’s that all this free stuff sucks.
Screw this you think, and hobble back to your drum kit. You can always hit your drums and make the world feel like a better place, even while covered in ticks and stings.
That’s better, free stuff is great but it isn’t always. The thing about drums is that they never stop being the best or loudest thing ever. Ever.
